First Trax shear baler goes to APM Metals Ltd

Lefort Trax
Lefort's new Trax shear baler is a great little mover!.
APM Metals Ltd of Sittingbourne, Kent are the first company in the United Kingdom to order the Lefort Trax shear baler. Trax is the new generation of shear baler which features twin tracks in place of the more traditional wheels.

The metal tracks make it quick and easy to manoeuvre around most yards as it can turn in a small footprint. A versatile work horse in the yard Trax can be easily transported to another site if required, by a transporting trailer, where it can instantly be put to work as it is immediately operable.

The Trax can be moved the to the material, which is much simpler than moving the material to the shear. Co-ordinated by the material handler’s operative using remote control the self propelled Trax can be positioned in the ideal location to shear or bale a range of metals including structural steels. Three models are available within the Trax range providing shear forces of 500, 600 and 900 tonne and box closing force of between 200 to 360 tonne depending on model.

APM Metals are a well know family run business, established in 1965. For more than fifty years APM have been at the heart of metals recycling, where continued investment in the latest technology for material processing has enabled them to maintain their position in this competitive industry. They are experts in all aspects of recycling ferrous and non ferrous metals and certainly know a thing or two about recycling equipment. Pleased with the quality of Lefort equipment purchased previously the company decided to invest in a Trax to improve the versatility and competitiveness of their operation. The new machine will be set to work processing ferrous metal and aluminium for the UK and export markets under the watchful eye of Managing Director Peter Hyams, who commented, “Trax is the ideal choice for a muti-site, muti-material company such as ours. We can easily move Trax between our different sites and between the different material streams at those sites. Moving Trax from our aluminium pile to our steel pile is easier then moving the metal to Trax.” The new Trax is set to arrive shorty giving APM Metals a flying start to the new year and a competitive edge in a competitive industry.

For more information on the new Trax range or any of the other Lefort models please contact David Chapman or Peter Jones 01344 860650 or email them here
